Problems with the vehicle are reported early on in the bus and in the control centre and the driver is given relevant support. Comprehensive vehicle monitoring during ongoing operations enables the dispatcher to get an overview of the situation in the bus himself. Unexpected breakdowns can be avoided, which increases the availability of the vehicles. As a result the entire fleet is more effective and customer-friendly.
Our CEO Heiko Bauer has published an article in this year’s “Elektrobus Spezial” of the magazine “der Nahverkehr” on the subject of “Cost reduction through active management of charging processes”. In it he describes how it is possible to reduce peak power and benefit from variable electricity prices and presents our charging management system MOBILEcharge.

The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) is an industry alliance formed to further develop OCPP to lead open and flexible EV networks worldwide.
The OCA focuses on the development of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and the Open Smart Charging Protocol (OSCP) in order to optimize costs and risks of investments in network infrastructures.
As a member of the OCA, CarMedialab has the opportunity to help shape current and future versions of the OCPP to best meet market requirements. OCA uses the knowledge and experience of its members to provide a cost-effective, interoperable and universal infrastructure for charging EVs.
CML as project partner The German/French joint research and development project EMCC (Efficient Modular Convenient Charging) is developing an induction charging system for electric vehicles under real conditions. This system should be user-friendly, modular, efficient, safe and cost-effective and offers a wide range of possible applications for cars, buses and trucks. This enables users to charge their vehicles comfortably without manual intervention.
The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency and safety of the charging process while reducing the weight of the station and its costs. The project is expected to run until the end of 2020. We are very proud to be part of this innovative development!
Transport companies connect places to places, people to people and people to places.
We wanted to improve all of these interactions and we’re really happy to announce that we have developed solutions in cooperation with INIT, the global leading provider of integrated public transport IT solutions.
With the aid of our systems, transport companies have a completely new view of their bus fleets, whether these are conventional diesel or environmentally friendly electric buses, and whether our customers are working in the head office or driving the bus.
This enables transport companies to work more efficiently, save their own resources and protect the environment at the same time.
You can find more information about our systems and their how they are being used here.
The new year starts with a new product in cooperation with Init se: the efficient charging management system MOBILEcharge.
By combining our IT know-how with Init’s experience as the world’s leading provider of IT solutions for public transport, we created the MobileCharge product from the MobileECO2 product family.
In order for electromobility to make increasing inroads into public transport, a certain amount of coordination is required in advance: When will the electric buses run and for how long? How is it ensured that they do not stop in the middle of the route? And how can several buses be charged at the same time?
Many questions they no longer have to worry about thanks to our new product. MOBILEcharge coordinates the charging processes, whether parallel, controlled or automated – with our system, every battery in their fleet is fully charged.
MOBILEcharge coordinates your fleet’s charging operations and takes care of issues such as timing, duration and simultaneity of the charging process.
For more information on this exciting new product, see the linked product video.
Such strong products as MobileCharge show it once again: with Team Play, great things can be achieved.
A highlight of Innotrans 2018: the fully comprehensive coordination of electric buses. In cooperation with Init se, we offer an integrated solution for transport companies to enable the step towards electromobility in public transport.
Init se offers an integrated solution for transport companies that includes planning and dispatching, as well as operations control and payment systems, and evaluation and statistics systems. So that nothing stands in the way of flawless operations in public transport.
This year at Innotrans 2018, this solution will be optimized especially for electric mobility. For example, transport operators can use simulation software to analyze how electric buses can be optimally integrated into the existing fleet.
With our integrated solutions, electromobility can be optimally used by transport companies to make optimal use of it.
Dr. Jürgen Greschner, CEO Init se
With the full coordination of electric buses, any transport company flawlessly achieves the move from conventional to environmentally friendly transport.

Our ISO 15118 and OCPP software stacks offer the full program for you: a compilation of source code, libraries and scripts that ensure smart communication and save you a lot of programming effort. You can find more information here: ISO 15118 Software Stack and OCPP Software.
CarMedialab supports research and development of smart charging for a more efficient and greener mobility of the future. For this we offer a prototype for inductive charging under ISO 15118. See for yourself:
The model vehicle was created in collaboration with our partners. Small-scale modeling gives us the opportunity to test the processes of inductive charging in real conditions and to optimize them.
Inductive charging offers the possibility to charge the le more effectively and comfortably.
