Intelligent use of energy sources
Dynamic Power Management
With the growing importance of e-mobility, the efficient management of charging infrastructures is becoming increasingly important. However, the requirements for power supply and charging performance vary greatly, depending on both the time of day and the availability of renewable energy sources. To meet these challenges, we at CML have developed Dynamic Power Management as one of the latest features in the MOBILEcharge system.
Maximum charging efficiency
Dynamic Power Management dynamically adapts the power distribution of your charging infrastructure to the energy available. If more electricity is available, for example at night or when solar power production is high, more energy is automatically provided for charging your electric vehicles. When less power is available, the charging power is reduced accordingly. This means maximum charging efficiency!
How does it work?
The MOBILEcharge system monitors the power supply in real time and optimizes the allocation for your charging infrastructure. Let’s take a simple example:
During the day, when more power is needed for company buildings or other facilities, the power for the charging infrastructure can be reduced accordingly. Excess power can be redirected to the charging stations at night or when there is high solar irradiation from a solar array. This means you always have full control over power distribution without manual intervention.
The advantages at a glance
- Maximum efficiency
Dynamic adaptation means that the maximum available energy is always invested in your charging infrastructure. - Optimal use of renewable energy
When solar or other renewable energy is available, it is prioritized for charging. - Easy to use
The system automatically decides how much power to provide to your charging points – without you having to intervene. - Sustainability and cost savings
Better use of excess electricity can reduce operating costs and the use of fossil fuels.
Practical example
Imagine a transportation company with several electric vehicles and a limited connected load. During the day, power is distributed primarily to power the building and charging stations. In the evening, when little power is needed in the buildings, the dynamic power management system can direct that power to the charging stations. As a result, more vehicles can be charged overnight without the need for additional energy infrastructure.
Future-proofed charging solutions with MOBILEcharge
Dynamic Power Management is a further step towards making the charging infrastructure more intelligent, efficient and sustainable. Especially in combination with renewable energies, such as solar or wind power, this feature offers enormous potential for reducing energy costs and protecting the environment.
With MOBILEcharge and the new Dynamic Power Management, you stay flexible and make optimum use of your energy – exactly when it is available.
