Maurice installs the Flea 4+ in an electric vehicle. The Flea 4+ is CarMedialab’s embedded platform for intelligent data acquisition and is tailored for use in vehicle development. Plug and Play
Due to the increased performance and updated interfaces, not only can more signals be recorded but also processed more intelligently. Connectivity and cloud connectivity offer a high level of user comfort and automation at a low cost.
Our CEO Heiko Bauer has published an article in this year’s “Elektrobus Spezial” of the magazine “der Nahverkehr” on the subject of “Cost reduction through active management of charging processes”. In it he describes how it is possible to reduce peak power and benefit from variable electricity prices and presents our charging management system MOBILEcharge.

The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) is an industry alliance formed to further develop OCPP to lead open and flexible EV networks worldwide.
The OCA focuses on the development of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and the Open Smart Charging Protocol (OSCP) in order to optimize costs and risks of investments in network infrastructures.
As a member of the OCA, CarMedialab has the opportunity to help shape current and future versions of the OCPP to best meet market requirements. OCA uses the knowledge and experience of its members to provide a cost-effective, interoperable and universal infrastructure for charging EVs.

CML as project partner The German/French joint research and development project EMCC (Efficient Modular Convenient Charging) is developing an induction charging system for electric vehicles under real conditions. This system should be user-friendly, modular, efficient, safe and cost-effective and offers a wide range of possible applications for cars, buses and trucks. This enables users to charge their vehicles comfortably without manual intervention.
The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency and safety of the charging process while reducing the weight of the station and its costs. The project is expected to run until the end of 2020. We are very proud to be part of this innovative development!
Information security is our top priority When it comes to information security, our customers have high expectations. Meeting these requirements is one of our most important concerns – which is why we have had ourselves officially audited.
TISAX stands for “Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange”, a mechanism for the exchange of audit information. The label is a registered trademark and is the standard for information security in the automotive industry.
All of this is operated by the “ENX Association”, which recognizes cross-company assessments of information security in our industry. The audit itself is carried out in accordance with internationally recognised industry standards and is performed by accredited audit service providers.
We have undergone and passed this extensive TISAX audit too, proving that we meet the high standards for information security. We hope this will once again encourage our customers to place their trust in us.
Transport companies connect places to places, people to people and people to places.
We wanted to improve all of these interactions and we’re really happy to announce that we have developed solutions in cooperation with INIT, the global leading provider of integrated public transport IT solutions.
With the aid of our systems, transport companies have a completely new view of their bus fleets, whether these are conventional diesel or environmentally friendly electric buses, and whether our customers are working in the head office or driving the bus.
This enables transport companies to work more efficiently, save their own resources and protect the environment at the same time.
You can find more information about our systems and their how they are being used here.
Our Fleas do not only convince the automotive market – even motorcycle manufacturers like the french Newron Motors like to rely on our products. We’re really happy to announce that Newron Motors integrated our Flea 3 in their innovative electro motorcycle.
Beside the unique and modern design of the machine, Newron Motors focuses on the integration of new technologies. That’s why the vehicle is able to reach 0 to 100 km/h within 3 seconds and to achieve a top speed of 220 km/h. Thanks to the use of artificial intelligence, Newron Motors can offer a range of 300 km to the customers and is able to beat the average of the competition.
The company strives for customer satisfaction – the machine should become their best ally. Artificial Intelligence will allow the machine to optimize the route, energy consumption during the trip and anticipate the needs of the vehicle! A simple and optimized use, to allow the driver to ride confident by increasing his experience of riding a motorcycle.
Thanks to the connectivity to smartphones and tablets, the users can easily get information of the state of the bike, allowing to perform predictive maintenance.
Due to the remote data connection, the GPS sensor and the fast charging option, our Flea3 helps Newron Motors to develop and improve all of these features and we are very excited to see where the journey is supposed to take us!
The principle is simple: With the GeoFenceMonitor, a GeoFence is created which consists of GPS coordinates and a surrounding radius, marking a local area.
If the test vehicle with the built-in Flea 3 now crosses one of these GeoFences, the action is executed, depending on the configuration, either when entering or leaving the area or in both cases.
The action is defined as the sending of one or more preconfigured CAN/UDP messages. Sending can be either one-time or cyclic.
For instances, to mention a simple application example, an intersection GeoFence could be defined, where one is informed as soon as a test vehicle approaches or leaves the intersection area.
Your profit in location-based triggering is the geographical monitoring of your fleet. Thus, you can include local conditions in the test series and analyze the location-specific behavior of components of your vehicles (e.g. lidar/radar sensors).
There is also additional benefit in combination with our WebCAM function.
The possibility to define several GeoFences of different sizes and to combine them with actions as desired provides a lot of flexibility regarding your field of application.
